So where has the Baby Troupe been & what has he been up to.
Well over the last 12 months or so I have been rebuilding my life, after a change of employer at the same time as a marriage breakdown I found it difficult to do the things I loved to do, including wheeling and writing about it. I have found a few new pursuits, including video, which I hope to be able to include on this website after an upgrade over the next 12 months. On a personal level though, I have found a new lady in my life. With her strength and support, I have been able to bounce back to some level of normality, but in itself has come with a cost. That being the relocation of myself to the Darling Downs region of Qld. That means that I will no longer be doing my old favourite tracks of Lithgow & the Barringtons and I will have to depart from the Central Coast 4WD Club. On a positive though, I will be looking to join a club up there and at this point I am assessing the Darling Downs club, which looks pretty strong & I am sure to find some great tracks to explore & share with you guys and gals through trip reports, images & short movies. I will also have a number of videos for sale as I get them ready to join the ones I have already done on Lithgow and the Watagans. As well as 4wding, I am also looking to expand my personal hobbies to include Karate, with the Shito Ryu dojo at the Toowoomba PCYC being my place of learning. So far I haven’t done that much with them other than some photography of gradings and a couple of seminars, but after meeting a number of the members there, I feel quite welcome & look forward to the new challenges. Regarding my writing, I have submitted a new article to Australian 4WD Monthly magazine & there should be a brief mention of 4WD clubs in the spotlight in the upcoming mag, which I was interviewed for, so I look forward to what comes of that. So for wheeling, I should be back on the tracks some time in August with the Darling Downs club or maybe a forum outing with some of the local lads around Toowoomba and SE Qld. Between now & then I will be pretty busy packing and moving to be with my new family. On that note, I would like to thank all who I have wheeled with in NSW & I hope to catch you all out there on the tracks again some time in the future, either with me coming down to do trips with you guys, or you could be up our way & want to go for a play. I would also like to thank the Central Coast 4WD club for the opportunities that have been presented to me, and for all of the great trips. We have had some great times both out wheeling & around the campfire. I have made some life long friends & although sad to be moving away from them, I will still be in touch. Well anyways, that is enough of my rambling, I look forward to my new challenges & I hope to catch you out on the tracks somewhere.
